160 Anni from Ippolito 1845 is a 100% Gaglioppo red from Calabria. The best bunches are hand-selected and dried on mats until the end of November. Their skins are then macerated with wine from freshly harvested grapes, the two are blended, and the wine is aged in oak for more than a year.
Deep ruby in colour, it shows berries, violets, raisins and sweet spice. The palate is complex and well structured, with an intriguing roundness and a pleasantly persistent finish. Enjoy it with braised meats, game and aged cheeses, or after dinner.
