Torricella is Ricasoli’s 100% Chardonnay from a single east-facing vineyard at 400–500 metres on Macigno del Chianti sandstone. The 2020 grapes were hand-picked on 19 September, given a few hours’ cold maceration and fermented in stainless steel. The wine was then aged for 9 months in tonneaux (20% new oak) with frequent stirring of the lees.
Bright yellow, it has an intense, many-layered nose of citrus, white-fleshed fruit, tropical hints and creamy nuances. The palate is broad, rich and deep, finishing fluid and harmonious with savoury, mineral notes.
