You’re invited to our Italian Christmas!

There’s no better way to celebrate the season than with Italian Christmas food. We may be a bit biased, but Natale is an exciting Italian holiday and the perfect occasion for cooking up some family recipes. We have what you need to create a traditional Italian Christmas in your kitchen.

Christmas Eve dinner is traditionally lighter, with no meat and a lot of seafood. Bring on fish dishes such as swordfish, tuna, salmon, octopus salad, calamari and spaghetti with clam sauce. No matter where you celebrate, though, the sweet treats are a certainty: biscotti, pandoro, nougat and almost always a good old-fashioned panettone.

Unlike Christmas Eve’s meal, Christmas Day is typically meat-based. Natale lunch begins with an antipasto spread featuring dry cured meats, fine Italian cheeses, briny olives, and artichokes. The first course is pasta which can vary by region. In Southern and Central Italy, baked pasta is a must. In Northern Italy, Lasagne Bolognese and filled pasta are traditional Christmas fare. Next comes the main event, the meat. Roasted veal, baked chicken, sausages or braised beef are common.

Here are a few recipes you could use to make for Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.

Linguine with White Clam Sauce

Braised Beef in Red Wine Sauce (Brasato)

Dessert: Pandoro Tiramisu Dessert
